WindowX Privacy Policy

WindowX is a macOS utility developed by LynSoft. This policy describes how the Mac App Store version of WindowX handles information.

Information WindowX Does Not Collect

WindowX does not require an account. LynSoft does not collect analytics, advertising identifiers, browsing history, usage telemetry, window contents, file contents, or data for cross-app tracking through the WindowX app. WindowX does not sell personal information or share it with advertisers or data brokers.

Data Stored on Your Mac

WindowX stores app preferences, keyboard shortcuts, saved window layouts, Quick Access items, and cached website icons locally in its macOS app container or shared app container. References to files and folders are created only when you select or add those items. This local app data is not uploaded to LynSoft.

System Permissions

Accessibility and Input Monitoring: used to detect requested gestures or shortcuts and to move or resize windows.
Screen Recording: used only when macOS requires it to read window layout information. WindowX does not record, upload, or retain screen images.
Files and Folders: used only for Quick Access items that you choose. WindowX does not scan unrelated files.

Network and Third-Party Services

Purchases and entitlement checks are handled by Apple through the App Store and StoreKit. LynSoft does not receive your payment card information. When you add a website to Quick Access, WindowX may connect directly to that website to retrieve its icon; the destination website may receive standard network information such as your IP address under its own privacy policy. These requests are not routed through LynSoft servers.

The WindowX website does not use advertising or analytics cookies. Its hosting provider may process standard request data needed to deliver and secure the website. Any service provider processing information on LynSoft's behalf is required to protect it consistently with this policy and applicable law.

Support Messages

If you contact support by email, LynSoft receives the email address, message, and attachments you choose to send. This information is used only to investigate the issue and reply, and is retained only as long as reasonably needed for support and legal obligations.

Your Choices

You control the permissions granted to WindowX in macOS System Settings and can revoke them at any time. WindowX has no LynSoft account or server-side app profile to delete. To request deletion of a support conversation, contact us using the email address below.

Changes and Contact

If WindowX changes its data practices, this policy and the App Store privacy disclosures will be updated before those practices take effect. For privacy questions or deletion requests, contact lyn.vivian@icloud.com.
